CARTREF SIAMBRLEN
We had a couple of emails asking us just what "Cartref Siambrlen" is all about? So if your wondering the same thing then, then wonder no more.
On a holiday to Wales quite a few years back before the boys were born, we visited Carnarvon Castle in Wales (for those of you who have no idea). While we were there having a good nosey around, we came across a door leading to some stairs & by the door was a plaque which told us in Welsh that it led to the "Siambrlen Tower". In English it also told us it was the "Chamberlain Tower". Ah Ah!!!After leaving the castle we went to a local wool shop (NO!, I've no idea why so don't even ask - even the connection with Wales and sheep don't marry up - so don't GO THERE!!) and while inside we asked the lady owner what the word for house was in Welsh. Now hopefully with her Welsh accent and living in Wales she may have some idea? Anyway, bless her dear little cotton socks she told us it was Cartref, which meant, "Household", "House Of". (Getting there now are we?)
So there you have it, 1+1=2 and "Cartref + Siambrlen" = House of Chamberlain, thats us.
The other question we've been asked is the web address - www.mr-kes.com - Just where in heavens name did that come from? Well I have to admit it had nothing to do with me as I was a little stuck at the time. You see after Mesee brought me this to keep me quiet in my old age and after setting it up, it informed me I had to have a name and once choosen it would remain in the heavens for - oh FOREVER! Unless of course I agreed to pay them some small fee to change it (NOT!). So it was bang heads together time, float around a few ideas and generally shout at each other.
Well the WWW & the .com bit are obvious (aren't they?)
The Mr-Kes was all Mesee's work from start to finish and what a genius she is (has she stopped looking yet?)
All the letters are the initials of us all. Marie, Ryan, Kevin, Emma, Scott. Plus the two capitals equal the most important people in the mix - LOL.
